Cain – referred to in both the Old and New Testament – was a complex character. His ultimate crime – that of murdering his brother – was born out of a number of issues – jealousy, anger and depression being among them. Some of the things Cain struggled with have been replicated in the human experience throughout the generations that followed and are apparent even today.
