I wonder if anyone reading this introduction today experiences shame in any area of life? If not then that is wonderful. However, many people in our world struggle with shame, often hidden, frequently painful and sometimes debilitating. Shame in our world, so we are told, is the root cause of many problems in life – from dysfunction within families, eating disorders, domestic violence, substance abuse and, sadly, suicide. Appallingly shaming also seems to have become a twisted sport in our internet age – with disastrous consequences. So while millions struggle with shame – how do we deal with it? That is the question we address today in our Podcast.
