At XCEL Church Portree we have a passion to reach out and practically express God’s love to the people we ‘do life with’ in our communities. We want to connect with people who do not yet know God and help them find a relationship with their creator. We do not see Church being limited to Sunday – it is a seven-days-a-week experience! We believe real Church is a living community of people who take seriously the teaching and example of Jesus.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, our services have been online but since the 1st of November, we have gathered as a church again at our new venue, Skye Lodges at the new time of 11am. Our church is laid out in a cafe style with plenty of room for social distancing. We have an entrance door and a seperate exit both having hand sanitiser stands with track and trace, masks and information about how to keep safe during our service. Tea and coffee will be served during the service with individual milk, sugar and wrapped cakes/ biscuits. We have a creche facility at the back of the church with a kids and youth programme. At present, church goers must wear masks in church when they are not drinking tea or coffee and we are refraining from singing until government guidance changes. Our services are designed with the first time visitor in mind. All are welcome from the youngest to the oldest.
